Nobody Taught Them How to Be Healthy

Being Healthy in Franklin WI

It is a sad truth in our society that nearly 1 out of 2 Americans will die from a preventable disease like heart disease, stroke, most cancers, or diabetes. These are diseases due to an excessive burden of stress on the body from an unhealthy, imbalanced lifestyle over a long period of time. The sad truth goes beyond the numbers to the point that people are not taught how their body is designed to be healthy and adapt to their environment throughout their life.

For the most part, we are taught to try to prevent disease mostly with pharmaceutical intervention to suppress the effects of the body’s stress response and to accept the deficiencies of our genes as the ultimate culprit. Finally, so many well-meaning people are encouraged to wage a war on disease and are taught to pour their money into searching for the cures.

How about a Race for the Prevention? Let’s keep researching to find answers for those who are sick and dying to help improve their quality and quantity of life in the face of disease, but let’s also look to building health from the inside out. As a chiropractor myself, I have seen people make changes in their health by adopting the chiropractic lifestyle. The effects of getting regular adjustments, reducing stress, eating a more plant-based diet and exercising more are tremendous. Weight loss, pain reduction, better sleep, increased energy and improved immunity are just some of the benefits. So rather than trying to avoid disease and dying, I suggest we focus on building health and life. The relationship of life to death is similar to that of light to darkness. You can add light to a room but you can’t add darkness. You can only cover up the light to make it dark.

I believe the lifestyle that most of us have grown up with does just that, it covers up our life force. Do you know what the most amazing thing is about this? Even after years of abuse, our cells and systems are still willing to respond and revive their function.
